Electricity consumption in the secondary industry increased by 8.6% year-on-year in October

According to data released by the National Energy Administration on the 15th, the electricity consumption of the whole society in October was 741.9 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%.


By industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 10.1 billion kWh, up 12.2 percent year-on-year, the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 519.4 billion kWh, up 8.6 percent year-on-year, and the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 126.2 billion kWh, up 14.4 percent year-on-year. The domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 86.2 billion kWh, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7%.


From January to October, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 7,605.9 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%. By industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 107.6 billion kWh, up 11.4 percent year-on-year, the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 4,991.2 billion kWh, up 5.8 percent year-on-year, and the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 1,380 billion kWh, up 10.4 percent year-on-year. The domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 1,127.1 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 0.4%.
